As part of an ongoing investigative body of work surrounding Amazon, I reached a point where I felt really overwhelmed by the depth's that this super unhealthy. ecosystem of Amazon has reached. I also started to realize just how difficult it would be to fully divorce myself of supporting Amazon and Jeff Bezos specifically. Working through this during the late fall/early winter, I committed to an Amazon-free holiday. This felt like a manageable step in a positive direction. From there, the idea grew into an imagined holiday ad campaign, which similarly encouraged others to embrace an Amazon-free holiday.
This work is closely related to the Bezos Art Calculator. Both the calculator and this piece evolved into a larger work called, "Dear Jeff."
