A zoom performance of an artist, Caxette, giving an artist talk

Caxette participated in an artist collective called "Dear Jeff," which took on the challenge of trying to make a single work of art to sell to Jeff Bezos. In her artist talk, she outlines different interactive pieces that she worked on in the lead up to the collective being formed. She goes on to detail how the collective progressed and was covered in the press.

Caxette ends up going a bit *mad* which leads to the creation and performance of a Shakespearean drama in which an artist goes mad after spending two years trying to make art solely for Jeff Bezos. The final soliloquy is below:

Dear Jeff, I sigh to think once more your name
I hate to think upon this man again.
The name, Jeff Bezos, haunts my ev’ry train
Derailed away from where I once saw new
And time it stood in place and yet, it flew
I lost two years, and all will lose the work
Which was pushed out when art was set to one
Just one whose depth of wealth has warped the view
Of those he’ll meet and those who are unknown
He knows not those who work to grow his bank
He knows not of those things that we all think
To praise him like the gods is not for me
The more I think of him the less the see
I do not see the greatness of one man
I see instead myself within this plan
If it were I confronted with this play
I’d hate the art, and throw your years away
A madness grips my mind each day anew
But mad is right, when all is held by few
I curse the day your name became my fate
Dear Jeff, I sigh to say once more your name
I die and you know nothing of our game
You can afford my work no more, dear Jeff
I’ve lost my time, but you you’ve lost yourself
“It is so, indeed; he is no less than a stuffed man: but for the stuffing—well, we are all mortal.” - Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing
